Hello fan lovers. It appears we are still at home, waiting for the day that we can spread our beautiful wings again and dance in the street waving our hand-fans in the air.
So I thought why not make a soundtrack to accompany the highly anticipated Wild is the Wind collection which I can now confirm will be ready to launch at the start of May.
The collection, (check out our very pretty look book here) was heavily influenced by the Wild West and the rock and roll, rhinestone cowboy years of the 60's and 70's.
So, it felt only natural to dig into the catalogue of tunes out there that emanate the WILD MOODS captured in our new set of sparkly, spunky and original fans.
The Rules. Wild, or form of, had to be somewhere in the title of the track and fit the mood. There are a couple of rule benders in there, but hey a WILD THINGS list should be a little rebellious by default? The result is a quirky range of fabulous and fierce artists weaving a beautifully eclectic musical carpet spanning decades, genres, rhythms and vibes (silly included).
I´ve divided my wild fruits into two playlists.... one I´ve titled RUNNING WILD (for shaking those snake hips) with classics like Wild Thing from The Troggs, new things from Molly Burch and Angel Olsen plus some eighties randoms like Go Wild in the country from Bow Wow Wow).
The other list, INTO THE WILD (for contemplative wild and free thinking) includes the likes of indie folk sister Mariee Sioux (Wild Eyes) queen Kate Bush (Wild Man), Beach House (Wild Flower), Bowie! (Wild is the Wind) Patrick Watson (Wild Flower) our chief Nick Cave and more.. Something for a Sunday on the porch, or a wander into the desert while fluttering your fan wings.
So there you have it! Listen well, dance freely and FAN WILD friends! (Even it has to be in your living room for just a little bit longer.) And please, tell me what I missed!
Keep Safe and Stay Cool.
